Study Objective : To evaluate the efficacy and safety of glue fixation during laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy

Design : Retrospective analysis of 35 consecutives cases of laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy using a glue Fixation Setting : Bouchard Clinic, Marseille France Patients : Thity five patients (ages 35- 85 years) with genital prolaps defined as stage II or higher Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification (POP-Q) Interventions : Modified laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy using a glue fixation for the mesh on the vagina (anterior and posterior) and the lavator ani, associated with a non absorbable knot fixation for the anterior mesh on the isthmus and the promontary. Measurements and Main results : The average operative time was 68,4 minutes (45-115 min) , no complications during the procedure and during hospitalisation. One patient (2,8%) experienced mesh exposure, and 1 patient (2,8%) experienced a subacute intestinal obstruction resolved by a medical traitement. During a median follow-up of 13,2 months (Min 6 –Max 24,7 months), the surgical succes rate was 94,3%. ( 2 recurrences). The patient satisfaction rate was 87%. Conclusions : The glue vaginal fixation during laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy is safe and effective treatment of genital prolapse. This new way of fixation optimizes the laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy procedure.
